Hello! This is my 23rd year teaching, and I am teaching 3rd grade! My career began in '02 here at MZE. I also did my student teaching here in '01 in Kindergarten. I was a homeroom teacher for 17 years and taught Kindergarten, first, second, and third grade. I was the EIP Reading teacher for the last 4 years. This is my 2nd year back in 3rd grade as a homeroom teacher.
I graduated high school in '98 from Henry County High. I received my Associate's degree in Psychology and Early Childhood in '00 from Gordon College, my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood (PK-5) in '02 from the University of West Georgia, and my Master's degree in Literacy (PK-12) in '06 from Lesley University. Last year I received my Gifted endorsement.
I am really looking forward to all that my students will learn and the new strategies they will gain this year! I know the students will achieve so much this year with all of us working together, and I can't wait to witness their growth! We are in for an amazing year!
I love being a MZ Eagle and my husband and I have two eagles of our own! Our daughter, Kaydence, graduated from Mt. Zion High School in '24 as the class valedictorian. She was a varsity cheerleader, played bass drum in the marching band, and was an active member of many school clubs. Our son, Braydon, is currently in 9th grade at Mt. Zion High School. He plays saxophone in the marching band, and is also a member of many of the school clubs. We love our community and being a part of it! GO EAGLES!!
